Chateau Lagut is located in the green hills of the ' Périgord Vert '

ST. JEAN-DE-CÔLE (13km)

Saint-Jean-de-Côle is one of the villages that the label of ‘Les Plus Beaux Villages de France’  wear and deserves that label to the fullest. The Church Saint-Jean-Baptiste, dating from the XIIth century castle de la Marthonye next.

THIVIERS (9km)

Is the capital of the foie gras and stands on the highest point of the hill landscape. Every Saturday morning from 08:00 to 12:00 you can visit the local market in the Centre of Thiviers. A real winner.

JUMILHAC LE GRAND (28km)

This medieval town has a beautiful castle and has a large village square with outdoor cafes, bars and restaurants. The gold museum organizes goudzoek trips in the river where you looking for luck.

BRANTÔME (25km)

The Venice of the Dordogne. A very idyllic old town, where you can walk, shopping and eating, but where, for example, you can create a beautiful canoe trip. The bridges lead you to the many terraces where you can enjoy the local cuisine.

GROTTE DE VILLARS (24km)

Enchantment by water and time. It is the largest underground system in the Dordogne (over 13 km). The underground river has carved out huge, interconnected by corridors connected rooms. During the tour you will discover the prehistoric wall paintings.

L’AQUARIUM DE PERIGORD (64km)

The largest private aquarium in Europe, where one can fish in their natural environment. Impressive are the large carp, sturgeon and catfish. Outside you can enjoy a drink on the terrace.

SORGES (6km)

Sorges is known as the capital of the truffle, which special underground mushroom, known as the black diamond. In the Ecomuseum of the truffle, founded in 1982, one can be all kinds of interesting details worth knowing about.
